Opportunity:

Rouse Analytics has a full-time opportunity available for a Business Analyst in Beverly Hills, CA.  The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing key performance metrics for clients in the construction equipment rental industry.

Overview:

  • The role requires strategic thinking and experience with large data sets.
  • Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively with senior management, clients, and IT personnel
  • The ideal candidate will have advanced abilities in Excel and an understanding of normalized relational databases. Experience with T-SQL, R, Python, and/or VBA is desirable.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships, answer questions related to analytical outputs, and produce custom deliverables to meet client needs.
  • Formulate and construct analytical models to provide clients with industry benchmarks and metrics.
  • Develop, analyze, and modify processes, data structures, and models.
  • Identify research needs and perform appropriate qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Manage/analyze large data sets and synthesize findings into concise presentations for clients and senior management.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, finance, math, or science required.

Work Experience: Minimum of 2-3+ years’ experience working in analytics or a relevant field (investment banking, consulting, accounting, etc.)

Experience performing and reviewing financial or market analyses in a technical environment.

Skills: Strong analytical, problem solving, modeling, and presentation skills.

Expert in Excel, experience with T-SQL, R, and VBA is desirable.

Ability to manage/process large amounts of information and formulate recommendations for senior management.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, superior verbal & written communication skills, and attention to detail.

Equipment Classification Expert

Opportunity

Rouse Services has a full-time opportunity available for an Equipment Classification Expert. Work may be divided between remote and onsite at Rouse’s Beverly Hills office.

Overview

Rouse Services collects construction equipment data from owners, renters, manufacturers, and auction companies around the world. This data must be matched to Rouse’s schema, which requires correctly coding a category, subcategory, make and model. The Expert will review the collected data and classify this data using in-house tools.

The Expert will bring deep knowledge of the major equipment categories and major manufacturers in the space, plus an understanding of relevant differentiators of equipment with respect to machine options and condition. The Expert will conduct research into the range of machines, capacities, and specifications produced by individual manufacturers. Rouse Services will rely on this knowledge and research to modify and expand Rouse’s database of equipment categories and machines.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Construction equipment expertise spanning:
    • Broad range of equipment categories
    • Major manufacturers and associated value proposition
    • Options and attachments on equipment
    • Condition and quality of machines
  • 5+ years of experience in construction equipment industry
  • Ability to process large amounts of information with attention to detail
  • Comfort with recurring monthly timelines and shared work across teams

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience on a jobsite or rental yard, as an inspector, or with OEM

Field Inspector

Rouse Services has a full-time opportunity available for a field inspector to be based in the United States in support of their Appraisal business. The inspector will be responsible for visiting rental branch locations and construction sites for purposes of evaluating the condition, quality, and maintenance procedures relating to the equipment. The purpose of these inspections will be in support of the appraisal valuations that Rouse produces to support the underwriting process for asset-based loans. This inspector will serve as an “on the ground” representative for Rouse.

The hiring need comes at an exciting time of growth for the company, as Rouse is actively expanding its product offerings and extending its presence in international markets.

Overview and Responsibilities

  • This position is 100% travel-based throughout the United States and Canada, and may require some travel to the United Kingdom.
  • Visit rental branch locations and construction job sites of Rouse clients with the objective of inspecting the construction machinery located at those sites. The inspections will include:
  • A thorough evaluation of the machinery units,
    • Taking photos of the units,
    • Logging details such as maintenance performed, usage meters, and serial numbers
    • Interviewing the depot personnel and maintenance managers to document the overall operation and the protocol for upkeep of the fleet
  • Neatly and accurately document the findings of the inspections for reporting back to the Rouse team, which will ultimately support the final appraisal reporting to Rouse’s bank clients
  • Position requires some onsite training to access client customer jobsites (i.e. safety, hazardous, nuclear)

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience Set:

  • Prior experience working in the construction equipment rental (or closely related) industry
    • Cranes and/or heavy earthmoving equipment experience preferred
  • Ability to evaluate condition of equipment, potential problem areas of used equipment, etc.
  • Expertise with a wide range of equipment common to equipment rental firms, including for example:
    • Earthmoving equipment (wheel loaders, dozers, backhoes/dumpers, etc)
    • Cranes
    • Aerial work platforms (scissor lifts, telescopic booms, articulating booms, etc)
    • Telehandlers
    • Small tools
    • Concrete pumping (trucks and portable)
    • Tractors/trailers, including support equipment (i.e. jeeps, boosters, and deck extensions)
  • Prior experience performing maintenance, managing a service department, and/or operating equipment preferred
  • Firm grasp of current market conditions and drivers desirable (i.e., construction spending, notable projects, key players in different industries and geographies, etc.)
  • Ability to work comfortably with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Extremely strong interpersonal skills in order to interface effectively with clients and the Rouse team
